Information we collect

When you send a request from our Quote Builder or contact form, we collect what you give us: typically your name, phone number, email address, where the boat or vehicle is (a marina, dock or home address), its year, make and model, the work you’re interested in, your timing, and any message you write.

If you use the Quote Builder, the picks you make (for example boat length, type, the services you chose and what you’re seeing) are sent with your request so we can see the estimate you saw. These picks may also appear in the page address so you can share or bookmark an estimate; they never include your name, phone number or email.

If you add photos, we receive the image files (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to three). We store them privately with your request. They are not published on the website and only Ride & Tide staff can view them.

When you tick the text-message consent box, we record that choice: whether you agreed or not, the wording shown to you, and the date and time.

To know which of our ads, searches or links bring people to us, the website remembers in your own browser the first and the most recent source of your visit (for example an ad click ID, the campaign name, or the website that linked to us) and sends it with your request. It is stored only in your browser until you send a request, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

Like most websites, our server records basic technical information with each request, such as your IP address, browser type (user agent) and a timestamp. We use this to prevent spam and abuse.

To understand how our website performs and to measure any advertising we run, we and the marketing partners we work with may use analytics and advertising tools, for example Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion tracking and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. When these are active, they may set cookies and collect standard information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your device type, how you arrived at the site and whether you contacted us, and they share limited information with those platforms. If a tool like this is not running when you visit, that information is not collected.

How we use your information

We use your information to reply to you, prepare a quote, schedule and do the work you ask for, communicate with you about that work, keep normal business records, measure and improve our marketing and advertising, and improve our website. We don’t use it for anything unrelated to serving you.

Text messages

If you opt in, we may text you about your request, for example to confirm a quote or arrange a visit. Opting in is never required to hire us. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. See our SMS Terms for the details.

How we share your information

We do not sell your information.

We share it with the service providers that help us run the business, for example our website host, our email-delivery provider, and the marketing agency and customer-management software we work with, which store and manage your request so we can follow up and which may run advertising for us. These providers may only use your information to provide their services to us.

If advertising or analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads or the Meta (Facebook) pixel are active on this website, limited information about your visit is shared with those platforms to measure how ads perform and to show our ads to people who have visited this site on services such as Google Search, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Those platforms handle that information under their own privacy policies.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, safety or property, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

This website may use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising (for example Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta pixel) so we can understand how the site is used and measure how our ads perform. It also uses your browser’s local storage for the visit-source note described above.

You can control or clear cookies and site data through your browser settings. You can also limit personalized ads through your device settings, Google’s Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com), Meta’s ad preferences, or the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info). If a particular tool is not running when you visit, it collects nothing.

How long we keep it

We keep your request, including any photos, for as long as we need it to serve you and to keep reasonable business and legal records, then we delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your photos or your request sooner.
